Please join us on Monday May 31 from noon to 6pm for a cookout at Goddard Park. Here are the details.
Memorial Day Picnic
Monday Afternoon- A picnic at Goddard Park. OSCA will provide hamburgers, hotdogs and veggie burgers. Please bring a side and/or dessert to share. OSCA will also have paper goods, condiments and ice tea or lemonade. If you want something else to drink, please bring it with you. Liquor is not allowed in the park. We have reserved a site near the beach and bathhouse. We will be under a covered gazebo and have 12 picnic tables for our use. It will be a 'shine or cancel' event.
Please bring any lawn games you have to add to the fun- horse shoes, badminton, volleyball or Frisbee. Also if you like bring your bikes or beach chair if you want to sit in the sun or go to the beach.
We also need grills. If you have a grill please bring it along.
Please register for this event by May 22. It will help us gauge how much food to provide. The cost is $10.00 per adult and $5.00 for children under 12. Everyone is invited- bring your family, friends and the kids!!
This is an unofficial sailing rendezvous. However, if you are in the minority of folks who are already in the water and up for a weekend sail, you can anchor right off Goddard Park. Please note that there are no shower facilities available and public restrooms close at dusk. If you'd still like to get to the park by dinghy, East Greenwich Yacht Club (EGYC) is just around the corner. The club is on DockWa. The club's Covid rules are evolving, based on CDC and RI State regulations. However, the bar is now open 7 days a week, so life is looking up! The club plans to have the shower/laundry pavilion available for visiting yachts. The club has undergone a beautiful facelift and improvements to the docks and deck areas.
