The Kickamuit River

On the west side of Mt Hope Bay, the quiet Kickamuit River provides a tranquil hideaway for the OSCA rendezvous.  Newcomers to this anchorage are astonished by this site, one of the many jewels we are fortunate to have within easy sailing distance of any of our Narragansett Bay area home ports.   The Kickamuit is one of the best gunk-holes in the area, protected from the elements and with fine holding ground.  Bring your kayaks or use your dinghy if you want to explore the coves along the quiet river, enjoy the soothing scenery, or go for a swim.

2015 Kickemuit Rendezvous

Paulette Cole will be hosting the 2015 Kickemuit Rendezvous.  She has a really groovy idea for the weekend.  The 46th anniversary of Woodstock is August 14 - 16 In honor of that anniversary the theme for the Kicki rendezvous will be the 'Peace & Love Rendezvous'!  So get out those tie dye tee shirts, headbands and love beads and join us in the river.

Here are some additional details:

Menu - Pot luck using recipes from 1969 or there about.  Let Paulette know if you will bring an appetizer, entrée (includes salads) or dessert.

Beverages - This is a byob event although if a host boat wants to make up some 'punch' that would be great.

Setting- Would love to have different boats for appetizers, entrees and desserts.  Maybe a couple of boats for each food stop.  Let Paulette know if you can host.  Bring your dingy so you can get from boat to boat.  No dingy, no problem.  We'll arrange a ride.

Action - Send Paulette an email at Paulette.Cole@verizon.net if you plan to attend.  Indicate if you are bringing an appetizer, entrée or dessert.  Also let her know if you can host on your boat.

Misc - OSCA will supply plates, napkins, cups, utensils etc. so the host boats don't need to supply these items.

On Sunday, if the tide permits we will do a dingy cruise around the river.  There are some neat coves to explore.
